For the boys of our block, each passing day inside the premises of UP Manila is never complete without noise.
Armed with the corniest jokes that weren't forwarded last night (due to the possible case of flooding the inbox our blockmates' phones) and 'philosophical ideas' on the back of our heads, as always, we enter the classroom with smiles on our faces.
From dude pare to pareng idol, from walktalking (walking and talking at the same time haha) to 'philosophizing' our daily conversations (Q: Ui, 'san kayo? A: Nasa [current location]..), all goes down to making fun of the conio language accompanied by our latest phrase. We're always playing language games even without knowing it. Always sabaw, we are prepared for every conversation, interesting or not. Even texting, is not an exception.
Sometimes, we'd be inside the clasroom, laughing like idiots over something that I guess even you (reader) wouldn't find funny at all. Sometimes we'd just be lurking at the library, barging into even the most innocent atmosphere in the college and spending our free time, comforting ourselves with the aircon to temporarily escape the hot sun outside. Or you could also see us walking inside the Robinson's Mall, looking around, criticizing even those (in)security guards who welcome you whenever you enter the mall. Sometimes you'd see us at the GAB Canteen, chatting with the people at Smokey's (a hotdog stand), drinking iced coffee and still, laughing like idiots while talking to each other. So what if we always laugh? Laugh, laugh, laugh. What's the point of hiding happiness anyway?
DotA is our sanctuary, the ever reliable realm of that game never failed to amuse us. From using the hero names as counterparts of some of our blockmates in the real world to creating weird names and phrases from past 'experiences' in class, the game turns out to be more thrilling than it was without doing those things. We'll be having more fun, now that we have more people to play it with. And with every game we play, we always have this thought that 'this is for the block' blah, and that we should win it for the glory of Block 20.
From corny to funny, these things just happen 'unexpectedly', and we don't give a damn about them. We just don't want the class to turn out boring for us, and we like what we are doing. Block 20 Boys will always be Block 20 Boys. Hats off, you gay noobs.
"Over our dead bodies, we love OT." - a recent quote from EM, AU and AV. Though DP was not with us that time, I know he'd also agree. I just know, oompa loompa. :)
