Pick-Up Line Overload

I have recently received a number of pick-up lines from my textmates. I've got nothing to rant about because we just played bowling and basketball today, and Im really tired. I'll just post some of the pick-up lines that I got here. You can use them all you want, but as I always do, I'm warning you: use them at your own risk.

You're like...

  • my kuto: I can't get you otta my head. (no comment)

  • my sweat: You relieve me when I'm hot.

  • SM: You've got it all. ( gamitin daw ba pati SM. )

  • Globe: You make great things possible. ( at dinamay pa ang Globe. )

  • my pustiso: I can't smile without you.

  • my shoes: You're always there wherever I go.

  • constipation: YOU TAKE MY BREATH AWAY.

    *****

    Mga pamatay na pick-up lines:

  • "You're name must be mickey, because you're so fine."

  • "Miss, alam mo bang exam ako? Kaya sagutin mo na ako."

  • "Uy! Papicture tayo! Para ma-develop tayo sa isa't isa!" ( this one is already
    used up )

  • "Excuse me, are you a dictionary? Because you give meaning to my life."

  • "I must be a bad shooter, because I keep on missing you."

  • "Pinaglihi ka ba sa keyboard? Kasi type kita."

    BAGAY TAYO. BAGAY."

Those are the corniest that I have. Ikaw? Meron ka bang ibang alam? Share mo naman. :)
Hay, nonsense na post ito. Hahaha.

    Ko Nyo?

Conio or Konyo, a slightly 'better' term for our very own version of the English language, has almost always been widely used in the country today. It is usually referred to as an informal dialect of Tagalog that has been infused with some common English terms.

It's truly amazing on how we Filipinos are able to convert any English verb (or in some cases a noun, too) into a Tagalog verb by following the normal verb tense constructions of Tagalog. We usually do it by doubling the starting sound of the verb or noun to be translated. The sentence "I will use the computer" can be easily converted to "Magko-kompyuter ako," by following these standards.

Some English words can sometimes be written in Tagalog phonetic spelling, too. Some common examples are : kompyuter (computer), radyo (radio), ispiker (speaker), drayber/drayver (driver), notbuk (notebook), kibord (keyboard), siyampu (shampoo, not nine and ten combined), magasin (magazine). I don't think the keyboard is actually spelled like that, but the others I'm sure of. You can also give some examples of your own.

English words have already invaded our Tagalog vocabularies. The infusion is inevitable. We (yes I admit, I am also one of the perpetrators) have already forgotten the classic Tagalog words passed on to us by our ancestors as time passed by. Despite of the presence of these purely Tagalog words, we habitually substitute the English word instead. I guess you have noticed this already, and there is no need for me to explain it to you.

*So mga dude pare, maliit na favor lang tong ia-ask ko ha.. Tigilan na natin ang use ng konyo language ha? Kase kahit mahirap i-explain, I know naman na na-understand niyo yung point na gusto kong iparating sa inyo. Stop na natin ang paglalaro ng language game na ito okay? Sige, I'll update na lang this blog later kase tatapusin ko pa yung mga asaynment ko. Magbablog-hop din pala ako maya maya.

    Language Game

I was on the way to my mother's office when I noticed five or six mute students who got in at UN Avenue. They caught the attention of all the passengers (including me, of course) inside the jeepney because they were doing the sign language to communicate.

They were simultaneously combining handshapes, orientation and movement of their hands, arms, and facial expressions to fluidly express their thoughts. They were able exploit the unique features of the visual medium by using only these signs. Their signs were arbitrary, it took only a single glance and they were able to understand what the 'speaker' wanted to 'say'.

We, the other passengers, were in awe of their marvelous ability to do what seemed to be difficult for us to do and understand. Almost everyone inside the jeepney had their eyes fixed to the students "talking" happily with each other. Well, the jeepney driver is an exception. His eyes are solely for the road, or else I wouldn't be able to post this blog entry at all.

I thought it was very hard for them to express what they really feel but still, smiles were visible in their faces. They were just like normal people, able to talk and listen to each other's thoughts. I even saw one of them smile at us, then I saw ourselves smiling back at them, too. Seeing those mute students doing the sign language with ease makes me think that it isn't that difficult to learn this certain 'language game' after all.

Perhaps its about time for me to learn a new language game.

    Bitter

Walang masyadong nangyari nung martes. Kapag sinabi ko pa yung kaisa-isang katuwaang ginawa namin, baka masira naman ang isang pagkakaibigan. Kaya mabuti pang itago ko na lang.

Hay. Wednesday nga pala ngayon. May quiz sa Chem bukas.Mag-aaral pa ko.

    Sabaw

Yes. Nabuking si 242643. Kanina pa 'to napagtitripan sa med canteen. Picture picture!

Anyway, before I actually discuss it, here are the SAQs:

Oh, well. Enough with those SAQs. We have a new language game! I tried it during the weekends, and I happened to memorize some of my blockmates names by the use of numbers, which correspond to the letters of their names when you type it in a cellphone. And I was reviewing then for the upcoming map test in Histo, the day before we go to I-L-O-C-O-S. Yes. At last. Sandali na lang pala.

Ay nawala na ko. I introduced the language game to my blockmates after Philo I (favorite subject ko. haha. ayan ka na naman mia..) at the GAB Canteen. At yun lang ang ginawa namin for 20 minutes, bukod sa tumunganga, at hindi man lang kumain. Rob was the place for us to eat today, not the canteen. Why? Manlilibre dapat si 242643.

Hay, as usual..Mia (again..) got what my language game was. Great minds? Then we started talking like that. Sobrang sabaw, baka magamit ko na pag may kausap akong ibang tao. 24726. 24726. Akalain mo, hindi alam ng may-ari ng pangalan kung kanino 'to. Hahaha.

    Back with 242643.

We had a hunch that 242643 was going to meet his 'friends' (perhaps his 'special someone') at the mall. Eat, eat, eat. Talk, talk, talk. Laugh, laugh, laugh. Then Grace decided to go home. Suddenly, Anna and Jane wanted to go home too! So we all decided to part ways.

    But then.....

We remembered 242643. He asked us what direction we were going, we said Pedro Gil. So he decided to come with us.

"Mamaya lang, mawawala na si 242643."

So he should go first, para mabantayan namin. We were near the Pedro Gil Station of the LRT then. Hindi nakapagpigil si 242643. Inamin na niya na makikipagkita nga siya sa 'friends' niya dun sa Rob. Kawawa naman.

This day was totally a SABAW DAY.

    Currently listening to:
myself, while dubbing Mrs. Sioco's voice. ^_^

The real deal behind the "S.A.Q."

My mind was wandering aimlessly approximately four and a half hours before I published this post. Our class then was Philo I, under Dr. Sioco.

Again, we were having fun discussing with Dr. Heart (you-know-who.) another topic, ethics. As always, Dr. Heart finds another connection of this topic in our everyday life. My wandering mind suddenly came to a stop. Meron na naman akong naisip na kalokohan.

Okay, eto na tayo. Remember the textbook in Philo I? It has SAQs after every module, di ba? Well, I thought of something. This acronym, Self-Assesment Questions gave me an idea. I was always clueless, "Ano ba talaga naiisip ko sa SAQs na 'to?"

Yun na. I thought of a new acronym that would correspond to SAQ. Simple lang. Sioco's Antig-Damdamin Quotes. Kaya pala siya prof ng Philo. Saktong sakto.

Anyway, these are the SAQs for the day:
